Privacy policy

The short version. To open an account we need an email address, a password and your country. We don’t ask for your name, address, phone number or ID. We use no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Payments are on public blockchains, so treat them as public.

1. Who is responsible

LITEKEEP DATAC LLC, Torre Banesco, Studio 1702, Calle Aquilino de la Guardia, Panama City, Panama is responsible for your data. Write to [email protected] from your account email about anything in this policy.

2. What we collect

  • Tax: the country you tell us, the country your connection came from when you signed up or changed it, and, for an EU business, its VAT number and when the EU’s VIES service confirmed it. EU VAT rules require us to keep this evidence of where you are.
  • Account: your email address, a one-way hash of your password, your two-factor secret (encrypted) if you turn it on, your notification choices and any SSH public keys you add.
  • Sessions and security: for each login session, a hashed form of your IP address, your browser’s user agent and when it was last used. Security events (logins, password and two-factor changes) go to an audit log.
  • Billing: your deposits, the transaction ID, coin, network, amount and receiving address of each payment, and every charge to your balance.
  • Servers: what you order, where, and its usage (hours, outbound traffic). We don’t look at what you store on your servers.
  • Support: the emails you send us and our replies.

3. Why we use it, and the legal basis

  • To provide the service you ordered: run your account and servers, bill your balance and send service emails such as deposit received, low balance and suspension. Basis: the contract between us.
  • To keep the service secure and handle abuse: protect accounts, stop attacks, and deal with abuse reports about our IP addresses. Basis: our legitimate interest in a safe service, and yours.
  • To meet legal duties: keep financial and tax records, charge VAT to customers in the EU, comply with sanctions and answer valid legal orders. Basis: legal obligation.
  • Optional emails such as product news, only if you turn them on in your account. Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw there at any time.

4. Who else processes it

  • Our infrastructure provider runs the hardware your servers live on.
  • SMTP2GO sends our service emails, so it handles your email address and the email content.
  • Cloudflare sits in front of our website and routes mail to our support and abuse addresses.
  • LiveCoinWatch provides exchange rates. It receives no data about you.
  • The European Commission’s VIES service receives an EU business’s VAT number when we check it.
  • Our accountant sees billing and tax records to prepare our accounts and tax returns.

We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising. Apart from the providers above, we share it only when the law requires it; the transparency page explains how we handle requests from authorities.

5. Where your data goes

We are based in Panama, and the providers above work from several countries, including the United States and EU countries. Your servers run in the location you choose. When data protection law such as the GDPR applies to you and data goes to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on the safeguards that law allows, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses offered by the provider.

6. Payments are public

Every network we accept except Monero (Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Solana, TRON, the XRP Ledger and Litecoin) is a public ledger. Anyone can see a payment to one of our addresses, its amount and its time. For a Monero payment, we keep the transaction ID and key you send us as proof. We can’t change what a blockchain shows.

7. Cookies

We set one cookie when you log in: a session cookie, required for the console to work. Our public pages set no tracking or advertising cookies, and we use no third-party analytics.

8. How long we keep it

  • Account data: while your account is open. Sessions end after 30 days without use.
  • Servers: deleted servers are gone; suspended servers are deleted after 7 days.
  • Billing records (deposits, receipts, charges): 10 years, the period we keep accounting and tax records. Then we delete them.

9. Your choices and rights

Ask us at [email protected], from your account email, for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. We answer within 30 days. We keep only what the law makes us keep, such as billing records. Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies to you, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

10. How we protect it

Passwords are stored only as Argon2id hashes, two-factor secrets are encrypted, IP addresses in sessions are hashed, and staff access needs two-factor authentication and is logged. The security page has the details. If a breach puts your data at risk, we tell you without undue delay.

11. Children

LiteKeep is for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly hold data about children; if we learn we do, we delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We email you before a change that affects how we use your data, and the date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
