Minecraft server hosting
Minecraft server hosting on your own VPS, not a slot.
A game host rents you a slice of a panel, priced per gigabyte. A VPS gives you the whole server: any version, any mods or plugins, as many worlds as fit. A Lite 6 at $8 a month runs up to 20 players on Paper with room to spare, a Lite 2 at $4 suits a few friends, and DDoS filtering is included. One click installs Paper or the Pterodactyl panel; you pay by the hour, in crypto, with no ID.
Welcome bonus: we double your first deposit. Deposit $100, spend $200. Your server is set up once we have reviewed and approved your order; delete it any time.
Plans and prices
Minecraft VPS plans, sized by players and view distance.
All prices in USD, without VAT. Customers in the EU pay their country’s VAT on top. No setup fees, no contracts.
Up to 4 players: Lite 2. Up to 20 on vanilla or Paper: Lite 6. Modpacks, high view distances or several servers: Lite 8 or Lite 16. Billed per started hour, capped monthly, so a weekend server costs a weekend.

Bandwidth: every server has a 10 Gbps port. Traffic is the monthly outbound allowance, pooled across all your servers. Incoming traffic is free, and past your pool it is $2 per TB.
Game host or VPS
Why run Minecraft on a VPS instead of a game host?
A game host is quick to start and limited by design: a set amount of RAM, a panel with the buttons they chose, and one server per plan. A VPS is a whole computer that’s yours, so the limits are only memory and CPU.
| Typical game host | LiteKeep Lite | |
|---|---|---|
| How it’s priced | Per GB of RAM or per player slot | Per server, by the hour, capped monthly |
| What you control | Their panel, their limits | Full root on KVM: anything Linux runs |
| Servers per plan | Usually one | As many as fit: survival, creative, a proxy |
| Mods and plugins | From their list, or upload where allowed | Any: Paper, Fabric, Forge, modpacks |
| DDoS protection | Often advertised, rarely explained | Network-level filtering, explained below |
| Payment | Card or PayPal | Crypto, with no card and no ID |
The trade: on a VPS you run the server yourself. One-click Paper and the Pterodactyl panel close most of that gap, and the steps are below.
Your own server for your world, from $4 a month.
Free RAM calculator
How much RAM does your Minecraft server need?
Players matter less than you’d think; view distance and modpacks matter more. We measured a Paper server ourselves, and the calculator adds that measured cost to the player tiers, then names the Lite that fits.
Give Java
2 GB + 1 GB for the system = 3 GB server
java -Xms2G -Xmx2G -jar paper.jar --noguiPer-player and view-distance figures come from our own test server. Start here, then fine-tune with spark. On hourly billing a wrong first guess costs you an hour, not a month.
The full method and our measurements are in the Minecraft RAM guide.
DDoS protection
DDoS protection for a Minecraft server, honestly.
Minecraft servers get attacked, often by someone who just lost a game. Every Lite sits behind always-on filtering on our upstream network, so floods of junk traffic are dropped before they reach your server. It’s included, in every country.
| Attack | What it looks like | Covered |
|---|---|---|
| Volume floods (layer 3 and 4) | Huge amounts of UDP or amplified traffic | Yes, filtered upstream |
| Connection floods | Fake connection requests to port 25565 | Yes, filtered upstream |
| Bot joins | Real-looking players spamming joins or chat | No: a plugin, whitelist or online mode stops them |
| Attacks on your website or panel | Floods of real-looking web requests | No: put a CDN in front of the website |
We don’t publish a capacity number, because we can’t verify one per location; be wary of hosts quoting terabits with no source. What you can do on top:
- Open only what you usePort 25565 for Java players, 19132 if Bedrock players join, and SSH. Close everything else.
- Firewall the backendsRunning a Velocity proxy? Velocity’s own docs strongly recommend firewalling the game servers behind it so only the proxy reaches them.
- Keep online mode onIt checks every player’s account. Add a whitelist for a private server.
More in our DDoS protection page.
Filtered upstream, on every server, at no extra cost.
Setting up
Three ways to set up your Minecraft server.
- One-click PaperPick Minecraft (Paper) when you deploy. Paper is a drop-in replacement for Spigot, built for performance, and runs Bukkit plugins.
- The Pterodactyl panelA web panel for many game servers, with consoles, files and schedules. Its Wings daemon runs games in Docker and needs Linux on KVM, which Pterodactyl’s docs say is guaranteed to work. Every Lite is KVM.
- By handFull root: install Java and the server jar yourself, for Fabric, Forge or a modpack.
By hand, current Minecraft (26.3) and Paper need Java 25:
sudo apt install -y openjdk-25-jre-headless mkdir ~/mc && cd ~/mc # download paper.jar from papermc.io, then: echo "eula=true" > eula.txt # you accept Mojang's EULA java -Xms2G -Xmx2G -jar paper.jar --nogui sudo ufw allow 25565/tcp
Set -Xmx from the calculator, about 1 to 1.5 GB below the server’s RAM. Run it in tmux or as a service so it survives logging out.
One click, then invite your friends.
CPU and location
Single-core speed, and the country your players are in.
A Minecraft server mostly uses a single core for the game itself. Extra vCPUs don’t add players to one world; they let you run several servers, a proxy and the Pterodactyl panel side by side without them slowing each other.
Location matters more than either. Pick the country nearest the middle of your players: our location pages show round trips to major cities. Moving later means a new server and copying the world folder, nothing more.
Java and Bedrock together? The Geyser plugin lets Bedrock players on phones and consoles join a Java server. Open port 19132 for both TCP and UDP, as Geyser’s docs say.
Close to your players, in 15 countries.
What people run
What people run on a Minecraft VPS.
A server for friends
Survival with a whitelist, a Lite 2 for a few players.
A community server
Paper with plugins for up to 20 players on a Lite 6.
A modded world
Fabric or Forge modpacks, sized by the pack’s own figure.
A network
Velocity in front of lobby and game servers, on one bigger Lite.
A hosting panel
Pterodactyl running Minecraft and other games side by side.
A weekend event
Spin it up Friday, delete it Sunday, pay for the weekend.
Your use case is on the list? Lite 6 is $8 a month, or $0.012 an hour.
The rules
What you pay for, and what you don’t.
Every rule is on this page before you pay.
The server: billed per started hour at 0.15% of the monthly price, never more than the monthly price. How hourly billing works.
Player slots and RAM upgrades: there are none. The players a server holds are limited by its memory and CPU, not a counter.
DDoS filtering: included on every server. Daily backups of your world are an optional extra, priced per GB.
Running a modpack or a network? A Lite 8 with 8 GB is $12 a month.
Try it without the risk
The worst case is an hour and a few cents.
You shouldn’t have to take any host’s word for it. Here is what protects your money. Refund policy

Deposit $100 and you have $200 to spend.
1. Create an account with an email address, a password and your country (for VAT). No name, no passport, no phone number.
2. Add funds from $20 in BNB, BTC, ETH, SOL, TRX, USDC, USDT, XRP or Monero. Each invoice shows one exact amount on one network, and the price holds for 30 minutes. A first deposit of $100 or more is matched 100% in bonus credit, up to $250; a smaller one gets +25%.
3. Your balance updates once the network confirms. You can close the page; we watch the chain for you. Coins, networks and confirmation times.
4. Deploy. Pick a country and an operating system. Your server is set up once we have reviewed and approved your order, and billing starts only when it is ready.

Minecraft server hosting FAQ
Minecraft server hosting questions, answered straight.
How much RAM do I need for a Minecraft server?
About 1 GB of Java memory for up to 4 players, 2 GB for 10 and 4 GB for 20 on vanilla or Paper at view distance 10, plus 1 to 1.5 GB for the system. The calculator adds view distance and modpacks.
Is 2 GB enough?
For up to 4 players on vanilla or Paper at the default view distance, yes. That’s a Lite 2 at $4 a month.
Is the server DDoS protected?
Yes. Network-level floods are filtered upstream on every server at no extra cost. Bot joins are stopped in the game, with online mode, a whitelist or a plugin.
Can I install mods and plugins?
Any. You have full root, so Paper plugins, Fabric or Forge mods and whole modpacks all work. Size the RAM by the pack’s own figure.
Can Bedrock players join?
Yes, with the Geyser plugin on a Java server, or by running Bedrock’s own server. Open port 19132 for TCP and UDP.
Which Java version do I need?
Minecraft 26.3 and current Paper need Java 25. Older Minecraft versions need older Java; with root you can install several.
Can I run several servers on one VPS?
Yes. A survival world, a creative world and a Velocity proxy can share one Lite. Add up their RAM, plus 1 to 1.5 GB for the system.
Does Pterodactyl work on LiteKeep?
Its Wings daemon needs Linux and Docker on KVM, and every Lite is KVM. It’s also a one-click app.
Which location should I pick?
The one nearest the middle of your players. Compare our 15 countries.
How do I pay?
In crypto: BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, SOL, BNB, XRP or XMR. An email address and a password open the account; no card, no ID. How crypto payments work.
