Linux images are free: Ubuntu 24.04 and 22.04 LTS, Debian 12, AlmaLinux 9 and Rocky Linux 9. Windows Server 2025, 2022 and 2019 add a licence billed by the hour, capped at $4 a month. One-click apps install a ready-made stack on Linux.
Linux
| Image | Good for |
|---|---|
| Ubuntu 24.04 LTS | The default choice; most tutorials, ours included, are written for it |
| Ubuntu 22.04 LTS | Software that hasn’t caught up with 24.04 yet |
| Debian 12 | A lean, conservative base for long-running servers |
| AlmaLinux 9, Rocky Linux 9 | Software built for the Red Hat family |
Windows Server and its licence
- Windows Server 2025, 2022 or 2019.
- Needs a plan with 2 GB of RAM or more.
- The licence is an add-on at $0.006 an hour, capped at $4 a month, billed from your balance like the server. It still bills by the hour on a Keep or Forever Keep.
One-click apps
- OpenClaw, an AI agent.
- n8n, for workflow automation.
- Ollama with Open WebUI, to run language models in your browser.
- Coolify, a self-hosted platform for deploying apps with Docker.

Changing the image later
Reinstalling with a different image isn’t available in the console. Deploy a new server with the image you want, move your data, then delete the old one.
