Delete a server and stop billing
How to delete a LiteKeep server from its Settings tab, what you need to type to confirm, when billing stops, and what happens to its data.
Last updated 27 October 2026
Open the server, go to Settings, type the server’s name under Delete this server and press Delete. Billing stops once the deletion is confirmed. The server’s disk is destroyed with it, so copy off anything you need first.
Step by step
- In Servers, open the server and choose the Settings tab.
- Under Delete this server, type the server’s name exactly where it asks you to confirm.
- Press Delete followed by the name.
What it costs
An hourly server bills the hour already started, then nothing more. A Keep or Forever Keep is paid ahead and isn’t refunded by deleting it, except within 14 days of buying it (see the refund policy). Leftover cash credit stays in your balance for your next server.
Back up first
Deleting can’t be undone and we can’t recover the data afterwards. Copy files off with scp or rsync, or export your databases, before you delete.
If something goes wrong
- The Delete button stays grey: the confirmation box must match the server name exactly.
- Deleted the wrong server: it can’t be restored. Deploy a new one and restore from your own backup.
